Nothing exciting to report

I'm sorry. When I started this blog I promised "quirky, witty updates that will leave you craving more!" Sadly I've been providing you with none of the above in the past couple of weeks.

My life has been quite boring to be honest, and in some ways I think that's a good thing. I've been crossing stuff off my to-do list left, right and center though! I've never felt so satisfied with the organizational state of my home. I'm not sure what I'm going to do next winter, since organizing and getting rid of things has been my primary pastime this winter lol.

My other pastime has been coupon clipping. I'm starting to see the light though. I'm due for a raise in April, and if I'm really lucky, a bonus. My income tax refund will pay off my one credit line, then I'll be essentially debt free except for my mortgage and the mysterious "school" credit line that has been dragging behind me like a ball and chain for 8 years now. Anyway we have a condo board meeting on either the 15th or 16th so I'm looking forward to getting some answers about the state of the roof repairs and whether we're going to proceed with replacing the boilers this summer as well. It's amazing how much a person can scrimp and save when forced to do so. Today I WALKED to get groceries for the first time! Which is so stupid (that I've never walked there before) because I only live a block from Safeway. It's not practical when I have lots of things on my list, but today's only item was milk (which I had a $1.50 off coupon for!) and a couple of other things. Not only did I save a total of $7.00 on my groceries, but I didn't fire the car up for such a short trek. I'm quite proud of myself!

As I keep my bankbook balanced and my house in order, I continue dreaming of warm summer nights spent on my balcony, cold beer in hand. I moved in last July 24th--halfway through the summer. I'm looking forward to enjoying summer in its entirety from my cute (hopefully refinished by the end of the summer) balcony. What does summer 2010 have in store for me? Who knows. Right now all I care about is a beer on the balcony in the evening, and coffee and the newspaper out there on Sunday morning :)
